Oh my, I am watching the YouTube vids from 'goathiker'. These would be only be kind of interesting if it weren't for the goats. They don't really do much, but it is funny to think about hiking around with a couple of goats.
Some of the locations are really great, makes me want to put on the hiking boots and grab the 817 and head for the hills.

I had an opportunity to visit the Goose Island Expedition this past weekend (October 18). The next time that one is advertised, I would highly recommend attending, even if it is only a short time.

We made a few QSO's. We put up a number of antennas! But the fellowship with fellow hams is what made it worth it!

Kind of a neat design for a portable 2M antenna to take camping. I think I'll cobble one together some time during the long cold winter months.

Might make for a nice attic mounted antenna to use during bad weather.
